I do like making a little more pretty and more user friendly my shell programs programs using different fonts and colors on text output and menus.
Usually I define variables with the formatting comands and I insert them in the text, sort of HTML.
The following is an example the variable ${bold} makes the following text bold, while ${regular} restore format font.
