In case you want protect some file. This is a quick and simple way to do it.
It's not high level security, but it allows you to increase security on files in shared environment, for instance.

1) have all the files you want to protect in a folder:


2) Archive and compress your folder


3) The encrypted archive has been created

4) let's try it (move the directory you just archived and password protected somewhere else ... in real world you will remove the files ... first make sure this works for you.


5) now decrypt the file, this command will ask for the password and inflate the archive in the directory.


6) check the files are back in the directory
